Pisa’s most visited site is Piazza dei Miracoli that groups the important monuments of the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Baptistery, Camposanto and the Leaning Tower. Pisa is a university town with some of the most renowned universities in Italy. Piazza dei Cavalieri is quite remarkable with the Clock Palace and Palazzo della Sapienza, which is Pisa’s University main building dating back to the early 14th century and improved by the Medici family at later date. Outstanding are the Aula Magna with portraits by illustrious artists and the Library, which still holds manuscripts and valuable books. Pisa is a beautiful and compact city that can be enjoyed just by walking around the narrow cobblestone streets lined with interesting shops or along the Arno River banks, also called Lungarno.

In the surrounding area, the Natural Park Migliarino-San Rossore-Massaciuccoli covering a surface of about 24000 hectares is an alternating of beaches, Mediterranean Vegetation, pine forests and agricultural land. For those in need of relaxation, we advise an excursion to San Giuliano Thermal Baths or Montecatini Terme, famous for its thermal baths, not far form Pisa and well connected by train and bus.
