Turin is a city with splendid architecture, which is testimony to its illustrious past. The best place to start sightseeing is Piazza Castello surrounded by Palazzo Madama, Palazzo Reale and the porticos opening onto the fashionable via Roma lined with shops and cafés. One of Turin’s landmarks is certainly the Mole Antonelliana, which, with its 167.5 m, is the tallest masonry structure in Italy. The 360 degrees view over the city from the top is outstanding as much as the climb through the see-through lift from where to admire the stuccos that decorate the vaults with the sensation of floating in an open capsule inside the cupola.

Turin’s Egyptian Museum is the largest in the world after Cairo’s and must not be missed. There are over 30000 exhibits from the Palaeolithic to the diffusion of Christian religion.
The Turin Shroud kept in the Cathedral (Duomo) is one of the most important Christian holy relics.
The Valentino, a beautifully kept park with landscaped flower beds and the Po River running through it is a fantastic spot for walking, riding a bike or even to take a canoe or rowing boat out for a romantic cruise. Within the park is the picturesque Borgo Medievale, a realistic reconstruction of a Piedmontese Medieval hamlet enclosed by protective walls.

Other interesting sights in Turin are the Galleria Sabauda, one of the best picture galleries in Italy displaying works that cover different time periods from the 14th to the 19th century, and the Basilica of Superga that attracts both tourists and peregrines every year.
