Tuscany travel guide

Tuscany, the most famous region in Italy, is no doubt a world’s favourite destination for the beauty of the scenery, which benefits from the Apuan Alps, the Chianti hills and the coastal area, and its incredible artistic and historical heritage. Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca are all Tuscan cities with plenty of tourist attractions. Home of the Chianti lands, Tuscany boasts an idyllic countryside covered with vineyards and olive groves and is dotted with medieval castles and old farmhouses. As well as being an artistic centre, Tuscany has become a favourite destination among the food lovers who go there to enjoy the healthy country living under the Tuscan sun, the good food and the wines. The northern part of Tuscany, Lunigiana, at the border with Liguria is the least famous but nonetheless very beautiful, on the cusp of the Apuan Alps this part of the region boasts the caves of Carrara where the renowned marble comes from. Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi are two very popular seaside resorts with an extremely lively nightlife. Viareggio also hosts fantastic Carnival celebrations with various parades second only to Venice.
