There are various ways to get from Marco Polo Airport and Venice historical centre.

Road Taxi -  the cost of the 15 minute journey to Piazzale Roma (which is the square where cars stop in Venice) is about 30 Euros.

Water Taxi – private speed boats that can carry about 12 people, which are the fastest medium to the centre of Venice and one of the most expensive, a ride costs around 55-60 Euros.

ATVO Shuttle Bus – this shuttle links the Airport with Piazzale Roma in 20 minutes. Buses run every half hour and tickets cost 3 Euros.

ACTV Bus – regular bus (n.5) with several intermediate stops between the airport and Piazzale Roma.

Alilaguna Blue and Red speed boats – it is a private speed boat service that follows the ACTV stops covering the major locations. The service runs every hour and the cost of tickets varies according to the distance with a minimum of 5 Euros and a maximum of 13.

By Train
Venice’s only train station is Santa Lucia Railway Station that links Venice with the rest of Italy with Eurostar, Intercity, Regional and Local trains.

Moving around Venice
The best way to visit Venice is by walking along the canals and crossing the many bridges. Taxis are available for those who don’t feel like walking, but are not cheap.
The best way to move around Venice without missing out on the architecture and the sightseeing is by Vaporetto. The ACTV (Azienda Consorzio Trasporti Veneziano) runs the service of Vaporettos, public boats along the canals that cover all important areas accessible by water. The service is fast and convenient.
