What is ITALY? The best wine? Legendary history? Incredible beauty? Magnificent landscapes? All this and much, much more form this unique country. All 4 seasons are good to visit Italy. Certainly summer is best one but if you are not afraid of the heat. Let us introduce to you to one itinerary which is the most popular and represents the country most of all.
Italy’s great food, beautiful countryside, fabulous wine, and long history make it an excellent country to visit. I fall in love with it every time I go. The vineyards in Tuscany, the history of Florence, the ancient streets in Rome, the laid back nature of Southern Italy, the gorgeous Cinque Terre, and the romantic canals in Venice all make the country irresistible. Italy leaves no one underwhelmed and, with so much to do and see, it would take a lifetime to complete. Italy is best seen slowly – just like the attitude of the country – so don’t rush it in one visit and try to do too much. Relax, take in the scenery, and enjoy a latte.
ROME
This extremely grandiose city speaks for itself. The Colosseum alone counts for a lot! A couple of days is not enough to see all the sights of Rome. Some of sights are located in the same area, so can be easily reached by metro (Metropolitana di Roma) such as Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Vatican City. Other parts of city you can reach only on foot or by taxi such as Piazza Navona, the Pantheon etc. because there are no metro stations around. Keep in mind that you have to book tickets in advance or take a tour to get in such places as the Colosseum, Saint Peter’s Basilica because the lines to the ticket offices are endless. However, there are many free of charge places that you should see. They are Piazza del Popolo, Castel Sant’ Angelo, Piazza Cavour and so on and so forth. It wouldn’t be a bad thing to create a list of places to visit and make a rough itinerary.
FLORENCE
Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany, which is the area of beautiful landscapes, gorgeous sculptures and rich artistic legacy. Tuscany is the home of many influential people of Renaissance such as Dante, Petrarch, Boccaccio, Niccolo Machiavelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and so on. Thus, we can say that Florence is a big museum. You will see that when you start your walk around the city. It is good to know that Florence has many hidden sights. For instance, a simple building from the outside can appear to be a genuine masterpiece inside. If you have a chance to see the top view of Florence, go for it without delay. Take your time to enjoy the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
VENICE
Venice is the city of love and strong feelings. If you need time to discover and imbued with other Italian cities, then Venice is the city you fall in love from the first sight! Cozy small streets, a number of fancy bridges, unique Venetian buildings and so on and so forth. You don’t need too much time to see the major beauties of Venice.
Venice is regarded as one of the most romantic places in the world, and it’s easy to see why! The city’s rich history, beautiful architecture, art and food make it one of the most interesting places to visit. As it’s also basically a floating city on water, there’s plenty of opportunity to go on a relaxing Gondola cruise – in fact, for many visitors it’s an absolute must ;). The city is easily walkable, too – perfect for a romantic stroll, especially in the evening on the way to a candlelit dinner at one of the many restaurants situated by the water.
